A storytelling experience featuring KING COTTON
Participants will attend an intimate hands-on workshop featuring Mississippi Brown Cotton grown right here in Detroit. Engaging storytelling and conversation on cotton production, growing techniques, drop spindle and spinning wheel demonstrations. This session is a collective exploration of tradition and contemporary methods of processing fiber and yarn making. As we hold and reverence the cotton plant. A plant that supports s throughout our entire lives this is an opportunity to heal and acknowledge cotton and the ancestral knowledge of farmers, land stewards, culture keepers and makers before us.
